Inside this issue
August is a very sporty month, and in this issue we bring you part two of our sprint through Olympic History (1948 to 2008), along with a preview of the 2008/2009 English Premier League, and details of the Hua Hin/Cha-Am Golf Festival, which runs throughout the month.
As we are expanding our distribution into the Bangkok area, we are also pleased to welcome some new contributors from the capital. The new sections include Travel Bishop, and an expanded version of On the Green, our monthly golf section, True Crimes features a detailed account of the terrorist attack on the 1972 Munich Olympics, and Obscure Tour takes us to Albania.
The Insight feature concerns the little-discussed subject of death in our resort city. A long-time resident takes you through the steps and just how to overcome the problems involved when a foreigner dies here. The Arts & Culture section centres on movie director Jean Renoir, son of painter Auguste Renoir, whom we featured in this section previously.
One of our new contributors takes a wander through the rustic wine regions of Provence, specifically the Chateau la Canorque. So, welcome to our new expanded Observer!
