Hua Hin Nightlife
There are a number of pubs and bars in and around Hua Hin, with something for everyone. The main strip is down Soi Bintabaht with around 30 or so bars, however the Hua Hin 'scene' is very toned down in comparison to that in Pattaya and Phuket. Johnny Walkers and Jungle Juice offer a friendly pub atmosphere where ex-pats and travelers alike hang out. For those who like to play pool there's the U-Turn bar, Billy's bar and Bamboo Grove.
Two more upmarket family friendly venues are O'Neill's and Buffalo Tavern, they are both airconditioned and have a range of ales on tap. Both bars also offer good pub grub and often have a live band.
Live music can be found in the J.Gene Pub, for live Thai music go to S'morlean behind Sao Paolo Hospital. The Hilton has an impressive bar with authentic ales and live music however it has become a bit of a pickup joint lately. Late nightlife consists of a number of Thai Discos, the most popular two are Stepz (at the Grand Hotel) and Star Planet (in the City Beach Hotel) with one frequented by students at Hin Nam Sai Suay. There are several local 'karaoke' bars around town for that truly authentic Thai experience!
